•  Kids Rock!, an outdoor rock concert for young children to benefit the Chapel Hill Cooperative Preschool, will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Forest Theatre on the UNC campus.

The Atomic Rhythm All-Stars will play family-friendly dance music. All proceeds will go the Chapel Hill Cooperative Preschool.

Tickets are $7 in advance, $10 at the door, and free for kids 12 and under. To purchase tickets or learn more, go to http://kidsrock3.eventbrite.com.

•  Friends of Historic Moorefilelds will host Moorefields on the Lawn, a fundraiser and dinner to benefit the historic Hillsborough home at 4 p.m. today.

The evening will include music by the Triangle Jazz Orchestra, food, wine and silent auction.

•  The 3rd Annual Pig Out for the Cure barbecue fundraiser for cancer research and treatment will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Oct. 18, at Coldwell Banker, Howard Perry and Walston, 1600 E. Franklin St.

Proceeds will benefit the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.

•  The McDougle Middle School volleyball team will host its annual Dig Pink game at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18 in the school gym.

The team will sell items to raise Monday for breast cancer research by the Susan B. Komen Foundation.

•  The Chapel Hill Rotary Club Seafood Festival will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Chapel Hill Country Club.

Local celebrity chef Jimmy Reale will prepare nine seafood dishes. Proceeds will benefit Chapel Hill and international service projects and ArtsCenter scholarships for children in need.

Eyes Ears Nose and Paws, a Carrboro-based nonprofit that places assistance dogs with people with disabilities, will hold its third annual Fun at Hogan Farm fundraiser from 2 to 5 p.m. today.

The event will include live music by Tommy Thompson’s Bluegrass Experience, food, hayrides and hay bale maze, farm animals, door prizes and more.

The festival takes place at Hogan’s Magnolia View Farm, 9118 Old N.C. 86.

Admission is $20 for adults and $5 for children age 4-12. All food and activities except raffle are free inside the gate.
