• The floriculture team from the Chatham Central chapter of FFA, an organization for agricultural education, finished fourth in the 85th annual National FFA Organizations Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Ind., last month.
The team represented North Carolina after winning the state competition in June. Team members are
Matt Brooks,
Kaylyn Groce,
Ethan Mason, and
Tiara Taylor. The team is coached by horticulture teacher
Chris Hart.
Mason, a senior, placed second among over 180 student competitors with his individual scores. He also received a $900 cash award.
