Carrboro and Orange continue in state high school football playoffs

Carrboro High School will play one of the state’s finest football programs when the Jaguars (13-0) host Reidsville (11-2) in an NCHSAA 2AA quarterfinal game Friday. The Rams have won or shared 17 state championships, including five in the last 10 years. Their most recent title came in 2009.

Orange (11-2) is facing another strong opponent when it plays Friday at next-door rival Eastern Alamance (12-1) in a 3A quarterfinal. The Eagles have won seven straight games since losing to No. 1 and undefeated Northern Guilford.

Orange has lost only to two then-undefeated teams: Carrboro and Cardinal Gibbons.

Orange Parks & Rec discussion planned for tonight, Thursday
