CHAPEL HILL - A S.C. developer will hold a public information meeting Thursday about a proposed auto service and sales center on East Franklin Street.

The meeting will start at 5:15 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Chapel Hill Town Hall, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Lady Street Development, of Columbia, S.C., wants to raze the existing 3,558-square-foot Dickinson Garden Center building at 1510 E. Franklin St. In its place, the developer plans a 4,988-square-foot Pep Boys Auto Service Tire Center and a 2,000-square-foot retail store on 0.82 acres. The project includes 23 parking spaces.

A site plan for the project was submitted recently to Chapel Hill town staff.
