CARRBORO - Carrboro Modern Dance Company features artists who have studied dance and performed locally, across the country, and around the world, and who have recently returned and put down roots in Carrboro and Chapel Hill.

The company was founded in June 2011 with a mission of creating a performing dance environment to attract and support dancers from the Triangle area who are seeking a professional opportunity to collaborate, choreograph and perform.

With their Saturday, Jan., 19 production of “Forward”, Grady Norkus and company executive director Beven Ramsey are pleased to announce their partnership with the ArtsCenter as the resident dance company.

“There is often a lack of space, time and connectivity for our area dancers, choreographers and teachers to study, collaborate, produce and perform,” Ramsey said. “The ArtsCenter is the perfect place to accomplish this mission, under the recent leadership and vision of its new executive director, Art Menius.”
