CARRBORO - The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on Monday, Feb. 25, to present plans for improving a section of Smith Level Road in Carrboro.
The section of highway slated for improvement is between Rock Haven Road and the bridge over Morgan Creek south of N.C. 54.
DOT plans to widen this section of Smith Level Road to include bike lanes, sidewalks and turn lanes with a center median. In addition, a roundabout is planned for the intersection of Rock Haven Road and Smith Level Road.
The meeting will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Carrboro Town Hall, 301 W. Main St., Carrboro. DOT representatives and the project contractor will be on hand to answer questions about the project and the construction schedule.
