CARRBORO - Police are seeking information about four suspects in a Tuesday armed robbery at the Burger King restaurant in the Willow Creek shopping center.

The men, all of whom had handguns and wore black clothing with hoods, covered their faces before entering the fast-food restaurant on Jones Ferry Road around 8 p.m. and forcing the people inside to the floor, police Lt. Chris Atack said. No details about the robbers’ appearances were immediately available, he said.

The men appeared to have come in with a plan for robbing the restaurant, he said.

One suspect kept watch over two customers in the dining room, and another stood as a lookout, he said. The other suspects held up five employees, including the restaurant’s manager, and took an undetermined amount of money from the safe and registers, he said.

No one was seriously injured during the robbery, and the men fled in an unknown direction, Atack said.

“As evidenced from their efficiency, it was not a spur of the moment decision,” he said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Sgt. Joe Thomas at 919-918-7418 or Crime Stoppers at 919-942-7515.
