Today's Best Shot comes from Perry Collette. "This is my daughter Carly, an East Chapel Hill High senior. She participated in the Charlotte Avon Breast Cancer walk again this fall. She walked the equivalent of one and a half marathons in just two days (39.3 miles), which is more than an average person walks in an entire month. She and her teammates were the top fundraisers, putting together $61,000 between them. The event overall raised $1.75 million ($125,000 went to Duke Hospital). The photo is her crossing the finish line with a friend she met on the walk. The organizers pointed out that someone is diagnosed with breast cancer every 3 minutes. So, they hand out a sash every three minutes to someone throughout the weekend. That is why Carly's sash in the photo says ‘3 minutes’ on it.”
