CHAPEL HILL - The new Chatham County Walmart has opened an employment center at the Bold Building, 50101 Governors Drive.

The management team anticipates hiring about 200 people across a broad range of skill levels and compensation for the new store, located at the intersection of U.S. 15-501 and Smith Level Road and scheduled to open in June.

If you are interested, fill out an online application at hiringcenter.walmartstores.com and specify that you are interested in employment at Store 3182. You should then call the employment center at 919-942-7830 to schedule an interview.

The employment center, located in Suite 168, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Management also plans to hold job fairs at locations throughout Chatham, Lee, and Orange counties in March and April.

Chatham County Board of Commissioners Chairman Walter Petty expressed appreciation to both Store Manager Christopher Smith and Chris Ehrenfeld of Domicile Realty for setting up the employment office.

"We are excited about the new jobs that this project will bring, and thank Christopher and Chris for getting the employment center up and running in a very short timeframe," Petty said.

Partners helping publicize employment opportunities include the Chatham Chamber of Commerce, the Chatham Economic Development Corp., the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce, and the Employment Security Commission offices in Orange, Chatham and Lee counties.

For more information about hiring, contact the employment center at 919-942-7830.
