Richard Ward Erwin

Rich Erwin, 64, passed away at home on April 1, 2013. He is survived by his beloved wife Vicki (Cornelius) Erwin, his father, Charles Ward Erwin, Jr., son Shane, and daughter Shari. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Cierra, Trenton, Christabel, and Ethan; a sister, Cynthia (Bill) Shaffer and several nieces and nephews.

Rich was born in Evanston, Illinois and graduated high school in Concord, Mass. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1972. He earned a bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1972 and Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Seminary in 1985. He served as Minister of Education at Carrboro Baptist Church from 1986-1994. After moving to Denver in 2001 Rich became the Operations Manager for Joshua Station, where he supervised the reconstruction of a former motel into Mile High Ministry's vision of a transformational housing facility for homeless families. Rich loved his job as a family advocate and operations manager, and was a father figure to many of those whose lives he touched.

A Memorial Service-Celebration of Life will be held at HillSong Church in Chapel Hill on Saturday, June 29, 11:00am. Memorial gifts may be sent to: Joshua Station, 2330 W. Mulberry Pl., Denver, CO 80204
