Orange County Dog Swim Saturday

The fundraiser may have set a local record: 94 dogs and $470 raised, according to Sarah Fallin, program coordinator of Orange County Animal Services.


The Orange County Animal Services Department will hold its annual Dog Swim Saturday, Sept. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the A.D. Clark Pool in Chapel Hill.

The rain date for the swim is on Sunday, Sept. 22.

This is the ninth year of the Dog Swim and is being sponsored by the Town of Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation. Admission is $5 for dogs and free for dog owners, however donations are encouraged. Refreshments will be provided for both people and pets.

Prior to entry, dogs must be current on vaccinations, not in season and leashed. The A.D. Clark Pool is located in the Hargraves Community Center at 216 N. Roberson Street in Chapel Hill.
