•  Justin Giersbrook, son of Jeff and Linda Giersbrook of Chapel Hill, graduated from Wingate University with a degree in Social Studies Education.

Giersbrook was awarded the A.F. Hendrix Award, which is given to a student that most embodies Wingate’s motto of faith, knowledge and service. He will continue his studies at Wingate in the master’s program this fall.

•  Daisy Mozgala, 10, was given the Girl Scout Bronze award at her Troop 1714 badge ceremony in Chapel Hill.

It is the highest achievement that can be earned as a Girl Scout Junior. The troop built owl boxes for CLAWS N.C., a wildlife rescue nonprofit.

•  Boston University awarded a bachelor’s degree in technical production to Jennie Elizabeth M. Worster and a bachelor’s degree in psychology to Christopher S. Pearman, both of Chapel Hill.

•  Phillip Goodling of Chapel Hill has been named to the Dean’s List at the College of William & Mary for the spring 2013 semester.

To achieve Dean’s List status, undergraduate student must take at least 12 credit hours and earn a 3.6 Quality Point Average during the semester.
