Today’s Best Shot comes from reader Hal Mekeel. “While cruising Jordan Lake looking for eagles in June, I spotted this Great Blue Heron preparing to land on a nest in the tree tops,” he writes. “This huge bird was incredibly graceful as it dropped onto the nest where several babies waited. It was shot with a Nikon D90. I call the shot, ‘Aerial Ballet.’:
