Efland Rodeo ropes 'em in for cowboy fun

Raleigh News & ObserverOctober 7, 2013

The 20th annual Efland Ruritan Club Rodeo attracted thousands of people Friday and Saturday nights to see bull riding, calf roping, barrel racing and bareback riding and to raise money for the club’s community programs.

The club grew out of the closing of Efland Elementary School in the late 1970s, when residents of the rural Orange County community rallied to buy the property. The aged building was demolished, but club members hope to someday build a community center.
