CHAPEL HILL — A Chapel Hill woman was legally drunk when she was struck and killed by a car Sept. 18 near University Mall, a medical examiner reported Thursday.
Lisa Renee Baldwin, 41, of 107 Creel St., Apt. A, Chapel Hill, was trying to cross the intersection of South Estes Drive and Fordham Boulevard against the light when she was hit around 8:24 p.m., police reported.
Baldwin had a blood alcohol content of 0.27 to 0.32 – about four times the state’s legal limit of 0.08 – when she died, according to a toxicology report from the N.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh.
A 31-year-old Chapel Hill woman who was driving north on Fordham Boulevard when she hit Baldwin was not charged.
There were no other injuries, police said.
