    • The Annual Gala Auction of the Triangle Luncheon Civitan Club will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Umstead Pines Golf and Swim Club, 253 Country Club Drive, Durham. The auction raises money for the club’s community service projects. Tickets cost $25. Details: 919-477-6432.

    • The annual Fall Fundraiser Preservation Party for Preservation Durham will be from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Morgan Imports, 113 S. Gregson St., Durham.

    • The Girls and Guys Night In fundraiser for Girls on the Run will start with a VIP dinner at 5:30 p.m. and general admission at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at Southern Season, 201 S. Estes Drive, Chapel Hill. VIP tickets are $75 and general admission tickets are $35. Details: gotrtriangle.org.

    • More than 100 restaurants will participate in the 25th annual day of Restaurants Sharing 10 Percent (RSVVP), “Dine Out and Fight Hunger,” on Tuesday, Nov. 12, in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Restaurants will donate 10 percent of the price of each meal bought on RSVVP day to the Inter-Faith Council for Social Service’s Community Kitchen and Food Pantry. Details: ifcweb.org/events/rsvvp.

    • The Glitz-Glamour-Gatsby Gala to benefit volunteer programs for Orange County residents will be from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Seymour Center, 2551 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill. Tickets cost $40 per person or $75 per couple at the Seymour Center in Chapel Hill or the Central Orange Senior Center in Hillsborough. Proceeds will benefit the programs of the Orange County RSVP 55+ Volunteer Advisory Council.

    • The Southern Village 5K and Family Fun Run, sponsored by the Chapel Hill Service League, will begin with the 5K (3-mile) run at 10 a.m. and the Family Fun Run at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Southern Village in Chapel Hill.     • The Triangle Day School Twister Trot 5K will start at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Triangle Day School, 4911 Neal Road, Durham. The 3-mile run raises money for the Be The Match bone marrow registry. Details: tdstwistertrot.eventbrite.com.

Handcrafted gifts and Equal Exchange fair trade coffee and chocolate will be sold at the fourth annual alternative gift and fair trade market from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Chatham Community Church, 11520 U.S. 15-501 N, Suite 201, Chapel Hill.
