High school football: Orange included in final top 10 poll

The Associated Press final state high school football poll of the regular season, first-place votes in parentheses, records and total points as voted upon by a statewide panel of prep sports writers.

Four of the ranked teams, including South Granville, lost in the first round.

The only area teams that are ranked are Southern Durham, which is No. 8 in 3A, and Orange, tied for 10th in 3A. Southern defeated Orange 55-41 when those two Big Eight Conference rivals played in the regular season.
