Jacobs re-elected chairman

December 6, 2013

CHAPEL HILL The Orange County Board of Commissioners voted to re-elect Barry Jacobs as chair of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) for the year 2014.

The vote took place on Monday during the BOCC’s annual organizational meeting. Additionally, Earl McKee was re-elected as vice-chair. Both commissioners received a unanimous vote.

“I trust I’ve served you well in the last year and if there’s anything that you needed that I could provide, I was available to do so. I hope the same will be true in the coming year,” Jacobs said.

Jacobs was elected to the Orange County Board of Commissioners in 1998 and served as chair in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2012. Vice-Chair McKee was elected to the Board in 2010.
