Santa paintings at the Burwell School

The Burwell School Historic Site will display paintings of Santa Claus on loan from Nancy Campbell 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday to Saturdays and 1-4 p.m. Sundays until Dec. 15 at 319 N. Churton St., Hillsborough. 919-732-7451.

‘Trimming Through Time’

Preservation Chapel Hill’s annual exhibition on the history of tree decoration in the United States will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Tuesday, Dec. 17, to Friday, Dec. 20, at the Horace Williams House, 610 E. Rosemary St. Anna Offerdahl, a UNC student, curated this exhibition during her fall internship with Preservation Chapel Hill.

Gift wrap station

The Orange County Public Library will host a gift-wrapping station starting Dec. 12 at 137 W. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough.

Holiday Home Tour

Preservation Chapel Hill’s Holiday Home Tour of the Laurel Hill Neighborhood will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. Advance tickets are $30, and tickets the day of the tour are $35. Preservation Chapel Hill members have a $5 discount. 919-942-7818,

‘Not-A-Holiday’ Party

The “Not-A-Holiday” Party for teens will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Orange County Public Library, 137 W. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough. Teens will fold origami, roll sushi and sing karaoke.

‘A Christmas Carol’

Allan Gurganus and Michael Malone will perform “A Christmas Carol” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, and Saturday, Dec. 21, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 210 St. Mary’s Road, Hillsborough. Tickets cost $15 at the Burwell School Historic Site, the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough, the Hillsborough Wine Company, Purple Crow Bookstore and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. Proceeds benefit the Burwell School Historic Site and St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. 919-732-7451.

‘The Nutcracker’ on ice

Local skaters will perform “The Nutcracker” on ice at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, and noon Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Orange County Sportsplex, 101 Meadowlands Drive. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $7 for kids and seniors. 919-644-0339,

Christmas Eve worship services at University Presbyterian Church

University Presbyterian Church invites the community to Christmas Eve worship services at 4, 7 and 11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 209 E. Franklin St., Chapel Hill. There will be bell-ringing at the worship service for families at 4, a traditional service with music by the Youth Choir at 7 and a candlelight and communion service with Chancel Choir music at 11.
