‘Home for the Holidays’

The Orange County Animal Services Department has lowered adoption fees for pets until Saturday, Jan. 11. Dogs and puppies’ fees are $60 and cats and kittens’ fees are $50.

Gift wrap station

The Orange County Public Library hosts a gift-wrapping station at 137 W. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough. The library will be closed from Tuesday, Dec. 24, through Thursday, Dec. 26.

Christmas Eve worship services at University Presbyterian Church

University Presbyterian Church invites the community to Christmas Eve worship services at 4, 7 and 11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 209 E. Franklin St., Chapel Hill. There will be bell-ringing at the worship service for families at 4, a traditional service with music by the Youth Choir at 7 and a candlelight and communion service with Chancel Choir music at 11.

Night Lights

Kids will celebrate the new year at Night Lights, a New Year’s Eve event for families, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, 250 E. Franklin St. Admission is free.
