Team enters finals

A team of students from East Chapel Hill High is in the running for a $5,000 prize based on their innovative idea for helping students. Daniel Stratton, Sunjeev Guruangan and their mentor, Fletcher Kieckbusch, beat out teams from schools across the state for a chance to win the fourth annual Institute for Emerging Issues Prize for Innovation.

The challenge was sent out for students to develop a process, environment, or tool to increase student engagement in K-12 classrooms. East Chapel Hill High School’s team developed "MacroClubs" which is a suite of online tools for students and school officials to use to manage school clubs. As a finalist, the team will receive $1,000.
