James W. Pope

James W. Pope passed away on Thursday, January 2nd at The Pines of Carolina Meadows in Chatham County. Jim was a United States Navy veteran who proudly served during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Alice Pope, and his brother, G. Frederick Pope II. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Kitty Lou; his sister, Dorothy; and 12 nieces and nephews. Special thanks to nephew, Andy Pope of Beavercreek, Ohio, and to niece Mandy Matson of Cary for their care throughout his illness. The family is especially grateful for the loving care and compassion of Jim’s daily companions and the staff at Carolina Meadows. A memorial will be held in New York later this year.
