Crime briefs: Chapel Hill police investigating hit-and-run; other arrests and crimes

Chapel Hill

• Chapel Hill Police responded at 2:30 a.m. Sunday to a hit-and-run accident in the area of Fordham Boulevard and Scarlett Drive.

Five people were struck as they were standing outside attending to another automobile collision that had occurred moments prior, according to police. The driver of the suspect vehicle may have fled from the scene on foot or was possibly picked up by a passerby. All the victims were treated at area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries and released.

Calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential and anonymous, and the caller may be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000 for information that leads to arrest.

• Clarence Eugene Riggsbee, 48, of 519 Terrace View Drive was charged March 5 with felony obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor driving while license revoked, police reported.

• Logan Skylar Fox, 19, of 1323 Keith Lane Apt A, was charged March 2 with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, police reported.

• Police reported the larceny of a scooter from the front porch of a residence on the 200 block of Mitchell Lane between March 1 and March 2.

• Robert Nathaniel Harrison, 45, of 600 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Apt 620 was charged Feb. 26 with felony obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor providing a worthless check, police reported.

• Maalik Antonio Burris, 21, of 305 Snow Crest Trail, Durham, was charged Feb. 22 with felony assault with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, felony first-degree burglary and misdemeanor damage to personal property, police reported.

• Police reported an armed robbery on the 200 block of West Franklin Street Feb. 28 around 1 a.m. in which a suspect pointed a handgun at the victim, who was left uninjured, and took cash and a cell phone.

• Police reported the larceny of a scooter from a residence on the 100 block of Essex Drive Feb. 27.

• Police reported break-ins to homes on:

- the 800 block of North Columbia Street between Feb. 23 and Feb. 24.

- the 100 block of Tweed Place Feb. 23.

- the 700 block of Bolinwood

- the 200 block of Church Street

- the 20 block of Clark Court March 1.

Carrboro

• Parteek Parteek, 20, was charged March 6 with felony financial card theft and two counts of misdemeanor financial card fraud, police reported.

• Allie Logan McFarling, 37, was charged March 6 with felony forgery, felony larceny, felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, felony second degree burglary, felony obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor attempted uttering, police reported.

• Marlon Theodore Stiff, 25, was charged March 4 with felony possession of a stolen firearm and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.

• Dominique Maurice Graham, 20, was charged Feb. 27 with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor resisting a public officer and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, police reported.

• Joe Wesley Baldwin, 34, was charged Feb. 26 with two counts of felony trafficking cocaine, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver cocaine, felony manufacturing cocaine and felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance, police reported.

• Tameika Denise Hunter, 27, was charged Feb. 26 with two counts of felony trafficking cocaine, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver cocaine, felony manufacturing cocaine and felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance, police reported.

• Gary David Propst, 54, was charged Feb. 26 with felony aiding and abetting obtaining property by false pretense, police reported.

• Dewayne Hardy, 45, was charged Feb. 24 with felony second-degree sexual offense, police reported.

• Stanley Verlon Somerville, 33, was charged Feb. 23 with felony breaking and entering, police reported.

• Wanda Russ Terrell, 49, was charged Feb. 21 with felony larceny by employee, police reported.

• Police reported a break-in to a residence on the 100 block of Parker Street March 4.

• Police reported break-ins to residences on the 100 block of Jones Ferry Road Feb. 26 in which the back door was kicked in and jewelry taken and on the 800 block of South Merritt Mill Road in which the front door was kicked in.

Hillsborough

• Nicholas Taylor Smith, 23, was charged Feb. 27 with two counts of felony larceny from a merchant by removing, destroying or deactivating a component, misdemeanor resisting a public officer and misdemeanor larceny, police reported.

• Joel Minton, 26, was charged Feb. 26 with felony probation violation, police reported.

• Franklin Delano Matthews Jr., 40, was charged Feb. 26 with felony failure to report a new address as a sex offender and felony failure to register as a sex offender, police reported.

• Wendy Underwood Perkins, 53, was charged Feb. 24 with felony selling or delivering a schedule II controlled substance, felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a schedule II controlled substance and felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for controlled substances, police reported.

• Jeffrey Adam Riggsbee, 26, was charged Feb. 23 with felony obtaining property by false pretense and felony forgery, police reported.

• Patrick Levon Satterwhite, 35, was charged Feb. 22 with felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle, misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, police reported.

• Police reported break-ins to residences on:

- the 4800 block of Buckhorn Road in the Efland area March 3 in which the side door was kicked in and a shotgun stolen.

- the 5600 block of N.C. 86 North March 3 in which entrance was possibly made through a window and electronics stolen.

- the 1200 block of Lysander Lane in the Mebane area March 3 in which electronics and a handgun, all valued at $3,300, was stolen.

- a residence on the 1200 block of Dimmocks Mill Road Feb. 27.

- a home on the 1200 block of Bushy Cook Road in the Efland area Feb. 27.

-a residence on the 3300 block of Southern Drive in the Efland area Feb. 26.
