Smashburger raises money for Duke Children’s Hospital

Smashburger, a new hamburger restaurant, will donate 10 percent of proceeds from the restaurant’s opening on Wednesday, March 12, through Sunday, March 16, to Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center. The restaurant is in Lakeview Pavilion East shopping center at 2608 Erwin Road, Durham.

Assistance dog graduation ceremony

Ears Eyes Nose and Paws will host a graduation ceremony for three assistance dogs and clients from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Church of Reconciliation, 110 N. Elliott Road, Chapel Hill. Fundraiser for St. Baldrick’s Foundation

Moe’s Southwest Grill and the Duke University Physician Assistant Program are raising money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Mention the Duke Physician Assistant Program while ordering at the restaurant to donate 20% of your bill to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation from 4-9 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Moe’s Southwest Grill, 6807 Fayetteville Road, Durham.

CROP Hunger Walk

The Inter-Faith Council for Social Service’s 28th annual CROP Hunger Walk will start with registration at 1:30 p.m. and the walk at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at Carrboro Town Commons, 301 W. Main St. There will be half-mile, two-mile and four-mile routes. ifcweb.org.

Great Human Race

The Great Human Race will raise money for local nonprofits with a 10K race at 7:45 a.m., 5K race at 8 a.m. and a community walk at 8:05 a.m. Saturday, March 29, starting at Northgate Mall, 1058 W. Club Blvd., Durham. Participation in a race costs $32 and the walk is free. Registration is required. thegreathumanrace.org.

Empty Bowls
