Madeline Colleen Foust and Captain Joshua Benjamin Kassel, United States Army, were married on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at 5 o’clock in the afternoon at the home of Pete and Terry Pegram in Cary, NC. Captain Nathaniel Foust, brother of the bride, of Regensburg, Germany officiated the military garden ceremony. Following the nuptials, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner reception at Prestonwood Country Club, and on Saturday evening, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Jimmy V’s Steak House in Cary.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lyn Pegram of Cary, NC, and Mr. and Mrs. James Frederick Foust of Hillsborough, NC. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Russell Redpath of Munhall, PA; the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Howell Foust of Graham, NC; and Mrs. Phyllis Louden and the late Mr. Malcolm Louden of Parkersburg, WV.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Frank Kassel of Greensburg, PA. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Moldovan of Greensburg, PA; Mrs. Ruthe Kassel of Greensburg, PA (formerly of Syracuse, NY) and the late Mr. Reuben Kassel of Syracuse, NY.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. The maids of honor were Elizabeth Brown of Boston, MA, and cousin of the bride, Addison Litton of San Francisco, CA. Additional bridesmaids were cousin of the bride, Justine Tillerson of Holly Springs, NC; sister of the groom, Jessica Kassel of San Francisco, CA; Nelle O’Donnell of Greenville, SC; Alison Huffstetler of Atlanta, GA; Laura Ramirez of Los Angeles, CA; and Erin Jollota of West Point, NY. Cousin of the bride, Peyton Hoerter, served as flower girl.

Best man was Captain Will Ryan, former West Point Hockey teammate of the groom and cousin of the bride. Additional groomsmen were cousin of the bride and teammate of the groom, 1st Lieutenant Patrick Ryan; former teammates Captain Matthew Hickey of Anchorage, AK, Captain Mark Tilch of Fayetteville, NC, Captain David Horvath of Washington, DC; friends Eric Chandler of San Francisco, CA, and Sean Jollota of West Point, NY. Godson of the bride, Brooks Tillerson, served as honorary ring bearer.

Readers were Shane Pegram, stepbrother of the bride, and Chief Warrant Officer Five Daniel Jollota, friend of the bride and groom.

The bride is a graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism. She is an associate producer for ESPN in Bristol, CT.

The groom is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. He is an Army Black Hawk helicopter pilot currently stationed at Fort Rucker, AL.

A honeymoon is planned for later in the year.
