•KENAN STADIUM - Celebration with fireworks, children's activities and live entertainment from 7 to 10 p.m. at Kenan Memorial Stadium on the UNC campus. Free glow necklaces will go to the first 8,000 people in the gates. Live music by Johnny White & The Elite Band at 8 p.m. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m., visible from inside the stadium only. Concessions will be available. No alcohol, coolers, outside containers or outside food are allowed. Parking is available at Craig, Jackson, and Cardinal parking decks off Manning Drive and Ramshead Parking Deck off Ridge Road.

•CARRBORO -- Weaver Street Market lawn and Town Commons. Carrboro July 4th Celebration with live music, Kids Fun Zone, games, people's parade and more, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Events begin at Weaver Street Market with decorating booths, costume contest and live music by Tim Stambaugh and Friends. People's parade marches at 11 a.m. to the Town Commons, 301 W. Main St. Perfomances by The Village Band, Bolin Creek Harmony Boys, Cane Creek Cloggers, Big Mama E and The Cool and The Mighty Gospel Inspirations.

•HORACE WILLIAMS HOUSE -- The Preservation Society of Chapel Hill's Old Fashioned Fourth of July celebration on the lawn of the Horace Williams House, 610 E. Rosemary St., 1 to 3 p.m. Music by The Village Band, lemonade, ice cream cones and more. 942-7818, chpreservation@mindspring.com.
