Caroline Craig Proctor, executive director and chaplain of the Presbyterian Prison Ministry, will preach at Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 10:30 a.m.

Through her current work with prison ministry, Proctor provides chaplaincy services to 190 incarcerated women at Raleigh Correctional Center for Women. The ministry serves women of all faiths and helps these women and ex-offenders transform their lives and prepare for life after their release.

"I am delighted to have an opportunity to engage justice issues and build bridges of empowerment for incarcerated women and the congregations who can support them while in prison and upon release," she said.

Chapel in the Pines Pastor Mindy Douglas Adams said, "Caroline has a passion for serving others who are often forgotten by the rest of the world and does a job most of us would not be able or willing to do. She has her finger on the pulse of poverty in North Carolina and has much insight to share with us all."

Proctor holds degrees from Davidson College and Duke Divinity School. She has 13 years of ordained ministry experience in a variety of settings: hospital chaplaincy, congregational ministry, campus ministry and prison ministry.

Chapel in the Pines meets Sundays for worship at 10:30 a.m. in the multipurpose room at North Chatham School, 3380 Lystra Road. Child care is provided. Sunday school classes for adults, youth and children begin at 9:15 a.m. All are invited.
