Jane Preyer of Chapel Hill has been elected vice chair of the statewide board of directors of the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits.
Preyer is director of the North Carolina Office of the national Environmental Defense Fund.
Preyer played professional tennis and was ranked in the top 50 in the world. As the women's tennis coach at Duke University, she was voted ACC Coach of the Year five times. She earned a B.A. in English and a master's degree in public administration at UNC.
Preyer also has served on the Boards of the Children's Home Society of North Carolina, UNC-Greensboro, Biofuels Center of North Carolina, Outer Banks Conservationists, and the UNC-CH Board of Visitors.
The N.C. Center for Nonprofits is a statewide network for nonprofit members, an information center on nonprofit organizational practices, and an advocate for the nonprofit sector as a whole.
