CHAPEL HILL -- Orange County will hold an information session on the future solid-waste transfer station on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road.

The goal will be for Olver Inc. to provide information regarding the operation of a transfer station and the site-selection process as well as receive broad public input and comment on the preliminary set of site-selection criteria and weighting factors, so that the needs and concerns of the residents of Orange County can be integrated into the final decision-making process.

A summary of session proceedings will be provided to the Orange County Board of Commissioners and posted to the Web site being maintained as part of the transfer station siting project.

For information, go to www.olver.com/orangecounty/
