The Orange Water and Sewer Authority has lifted Stage 1 water restrictions, which limited watering to one day per week, among other measures. On Friday, OWASA's reservoirs were 85 percent full. The 3 billion gallons on hand would last about 14 months, assuming no rainfall or flow in the creeks and streams that feed the lakes, and assuming water demand remains at a projected 7.1 million gallons per day.Lake levels have improved considerably due to conservation and rainfall since early March, when the reservoirs had fallen to 40 percent below full.OWASA customers remain on year-round conservation measures, which limit irrigation to three days per week (even addresses on Wednesday and Friday and Sunday; odd addresses on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). Watering is restricted to 1 inch per week and must be done before 9 a.m. and after 8 p.m.
