New visitors guide highlights area
The Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau has published a new 2009 Official Visitors Guide for Chapel Hill and Orange County.
The 76-page magazine highlights Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Hillsborough, as well as area accommodations, attractions, arts and entertainment, recreation, shopping, dining and other visitor resources.
Visitors Guides and Maps are available at the Visitors Center at 501 W. Franklin St., Chapel Hill, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call 968-2060 or e-mail

The Town of Hillsborough is recruiting volunteers to serve on the Margaret Lane Cemetery Committee.
The committee works to preserve, restore and beautify the historic Margaret Lane Cemetery, also called Old Slave Cemetery. The cemetery dates back to at least 1885.
