Gail and Michael Norwood of Chapel Hill announce the engagement of their daughter Amy Weaver Norwood to Donald Irwin Roush, son of Marilyn and Donald Roush of Chapel Hill.

The bride-elect graduated from Chapel Hill High School. She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from UNC-Wilmington and a bachelor's degree in nursing from UNC-Chapel Hill. She is a newborn critical care nurse at the N.C. Children's Hospital.

The groom-elect received a bachelor's degree from the University of California-Riverside with a double major in history and political science. He is a home inspector with Accurate Home Inspections.

The wedding ceremony is planned for Aug. 23 at University Presbyterian Church in Chapel Hill.
