Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Joseph Parpart Jr. of Richmond, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter Megan Leigh Parpart of Durham to Durward Belcher Williams, son of Dr. and Mrs. Durward Robert Williams of Chapel Hill.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wythe Thomas Bennett and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Joseph Parpart Sr., all of Richmond, Va.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Crosby Yongue of Charlotte, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Durward Rupert Williams of Chevy Chase, Md.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Peace College, where she received an associate's degree in science. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from UNC-Wilmington, and her master's degree in nursing as a nurse practitioner from Duke University. She is employed by the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Nursing.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Wake Forest University, where he received a bachelor's degree in communications. He is employed by Sports Endeavors, Inc., in Hillsborough.

The wedding ceremony will be held in September in Chapel Hill.
