Brittany Christine Hunter, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Hunter of Wadesboro, N.C., was married to Steven Mitchem Royster, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Royster of Chapel Hill, on July 26. Hunter, along with Dr. Dennis Hill, performed the ceremony at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Chapel Hill.
The bride wore a white satin A-line dress designed by Oleg with a pick-up skirt and beaded metallic embroidery on the bodice. The fingertip veil was edged with the same embroidery. She carried a bouquet of white roses enhanced with blue hydrangeas.
Julie Barefoot of Clinton was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica Campbell of Wilmington and Heather Kennedy of Raleigh. They wore black tea length halter dresses of organdy trimmed in Carolina Blue and carried bouquets of blue hydrangeas. Bobby Royster served as best man. Groomsmen were Luke Hunter of Wadesboro, brother of the bride, and David Royster, Chapel Hill, brother of the groom. Ushers were Brandon Rich, Wallace and Daniel Rich, Wilmington, cousins of the bride. Flower girl was Abigail Wright of Wadesboro.
Gail Cottle of Beulaville presented a program of organ music. Rich Holder, on the piano, accompanied Blake Holder as he sang. Parents of the bride hosted a reception following the ceremony. The bride's grandmother, Christine Rich of Wallace, made the four-tiered wedding cake.
The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church on the eve of the wedding. The bride's aunt, Sharon Holder, hosted a brunch the morning of the wedding.
The bride is a graduate of Campbell University and Duke University. She is employed by Carolina Ophthalmology Association of Chapel Hill. The groom is a graduate of UNC and is employed by the State Employees' Credit Union. After a honeymoon trip, the couple will reside in Chapel Hill.
