Margaret Jennifer La Force and Adam Jon Plantinga were married July 4 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Hilton Head, S.C.
The Rev. Richard Lindsey and the Rev. Dr. Cornelius Plantinga officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Winifred W. La Force and Craig Fred La Force, both of Chapel Hill.
She holds a bachelor's degree from Colorado College and a master's degree in public policy from George Washington University. She is employed as an asylum officer for homeland security in San Francisco, Calif.
The groom is the son of Kathleen Fay Plantinga and The Rev. Dr. Cornelius Plantinga of Grand Rapids, Mich.
He holds a bachelor's degree, cum laude, from Marquette University. He is employed in law enforcement in San Francisco, Calif.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Craig Fred La Force.
Matrons of honor were Lori Bernstein Allen of Eugene, Ore., and Cinnamon Rogers of Washington, D.C.
Bridesmaids were Dimple Dhabalia, Gabrielle La Force and Ryan Hardaker La Force.
Flower girls were Danielle La Force of Redwood City, Calif., and Micaela Plantinga of Grand Rapids, Mich.
Best man was Nathan Plantinga, brother of the groom, of Grand Rapids Mich.
Ushers were Joe Hoover, Kevin La Force, Victor Plantinga and Justin Vorbach. Junior ushers were Gregory Warren and Sam Warren.
Ring-bearers were Mark La Force of Redwood City, Calif., and Benjamin Plantinga of Grand Rapids, Mich.
Music was provided by the string trio of Anna, Pam and Peter Plantinga, cousins of the groom.
A reception was held at Windows on the Water Way in Hilton Head, S.C.
The couple will live in Oakland, Calif.
