Elizabeth Connor Stone and Matthew Craig Waldon announce their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Carole and Daniel Stone of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. She holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a doctoral student in economics at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif.

The groom-elect is the son of Ann and Roger Waldon of Chapel Hill. He is a graduate of Chapel Hill High School and holds bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is an electrical optical engineer at Apple Computers in California.

The wedding will be held May 9, 2009, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
