Matthew Paul Savage

Amy Joanne Davis and Matthew Paul Savage of Chapel Hill are announcing their engagement.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Jeanne Stuck of Eaton, Ohio, and the late Ronald Stuck. She is a graduate of Miami University and attended Eastern New Mexico University and is a professional percussionist.

The groom-elect is the son of the late John Savage and the late Ann Savage. He is a graduate of Crane School of Music and the University of Southern California and is a professional percussionist.

The wedding ceremony is planned for May 2, 2009 at Spruce Pine Lodge in Bahama.

Cecilia Mackey of Carrboro and William Mackey Sr. of Cary announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Marie Mackey, to Charles Nelson Burger Jr., son of Charlene and Charles Burger of Hickory.

The bride-elect attended UNC-Wilmington.

The groom-elect is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and is attending the Medical University of South Carolina School of Nursing.

The wedding ceremony is planned for September 2009 at Chapel of the Cross.

Janet Ann Webb

Seungbi Lee

Janet Ann Webb and Seungbi "Sebastian" Lee were married Feb. 9, 2009, in a civil ceremony at the San Diego Courthouse overlooking the San Diego Bay. Geshe Ngawong Gedun, a Tibetan monk, officiated at their spiritual ceremony during an afternoon garden wedding and reception on Feb. 21, 2009.

Parents of the bride are Ann and John Deupree of Fearrington Village, and Dr. Ralph Lee Webb of State College, Pa. Janet graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a double major in English and journalism. She recently completed a master's program in acupuncture and Chinese medicine at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and is a practitioner of acupuncture at the Center for Health & Well-Being in La Jolla and San Diego, Calif.

The groom, a native of South Korea, graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in molecular biochemistry and biophysics. He is currently enrolled in the master's program at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.

The newlyweds are living in San Diego, Calif.
