Sheryl Zimmerman and Philip Sloane and Mr. and Mrs. Neal Zimmerman announce the engagement of their daughter Erica Beth Zimmerman to Brian Phillip Hertzberg, son of Michael and Barbara Hertzberg of Chapel Hill.

The bride-elect plans to graduate in May from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in middle grades education.

The groom-elect plans to graduate in May from Duke University and attend medical school at UNC-Chapel Hill in the fall.

A wedding ceremony is planned for July 5.
