Summer is here and there are lots of cool activities at the senior center. Now is the perfect time to take an art, computer or exercise class. We also have many special events planned for July. The following is just a sample of the opportunities that are available at the senior center.

For a complete listing of all of the programs, pick up a copy of Senior Times, the bi-monthly publication.

Seymour Center

The Senior Net Learning Center is offering two summer workshops. On July 11, a computer maintenance workshop will be offered. Routine maintenance of your personal computer is vital in keeping your system running smoothly and efficiently. Problems ranging from "not shutting down" to "screen freezes" are more than likely a result of poor maintenance. The objective of this workshop is to make computer users aware of maintenance for the computer's security and improve its overall performance and efficiency. Class fee is $10.

On July 25, an exploring blogs workshop will be offered. Today everyone is telling their stories on Blogs, those Internet sites filled with personal or group information, pictures and lively comments. This workshop will explore some of the best blogs around, and participants will create a practice blog, post stories to it, upload favorite photos and receive comments from classmates. Students should have some prior experience with e-mail and the Internet. Participants should create and bring to class a Google Gmail account and its password. Go to www.google.com, click "Gmail" and then "Create an Account." Class fee: $10.
