- Dale Morgan, creator of the wildlife paintings that appear in this section, has an exhibit called ÒFlora, Friend and FoeÓ that opens March 1 at the North Carolina Botanical Garden. Morgan and her co-exhibitor, Claire Miller, invite the community to a reception on March 2, 2-4 p.m. The show runs until April 30.

- Chatham County Animal Control will sponsor a $5 rabies vaccination clinic Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon at the animal shelter on County Landfill Road off U.S. 64, five miles west of Pittsboro. LowÐcost spay/neuter vouchers will also be on sale to all qualified Chatham County residents.
- A daycamp fair, which will include many animal-related camps, is scheduled for Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at University Mall.
- Creative Learning about Wildlife (CLAWS) will have a booth at an indoor yard sale Saturday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at 3026 White Cross Road.
- Dog First Aid will be offered Feb. 22, 6-10 p.m. at the Orange County Chapter of the American Red Cross at 101 Ephesus Church Road, Suite B. Cost is $35 per person, which includes a copy of the guide, ÒDog First Aid,Ó and an accompanying DVD. Register at 942-4862.
