Miss Anne Carlson Houston of Greensboro and Dr. Andrew Johnston Wagoner of Chapel Hill were married Aug. 8, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro. The Rev. Dr. Sidney Franklin Batts performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Katie Carlson Houston of Greensboro and Mr. Richard Tucker Houston of Palo Alto, Cal. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Joel Morris Wagoner of Chapel Hill.
Matron of honor was Ashley Houston Kaufman, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Amanda Lynn Atkins, Kathryn Epps Banner, Tiffany Lee Barlow, Jacquelyn Stafford Buckner, Marilyn Brooks Carlson, Nancy Carter Carlson, Andrea Pate Fletcher, Whitney Lee Marcum, Mary Elizabeth Wagoner Notario, Emily Norman Richards and Whitney Devereux Smith.
Best man was Joel Merritt Wagoner, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Craig Howard Carlisle, Andrew Toomey Hauschka, Richard Tucker, Eric Culp, John Thomas Langston IV, James Eric Layton, Fernando Notario Rocha, John Bailey Oettinger, John Thomas Hobby Poe, Rivers Davis Powell, Benjamin Keith Thompson and David Benjamin Walker. Ushers were Thomas Earl DuPree III and Charles Wesley Merritt III.
The bride is a graduate of Furman University in Greenville, S.C. The groom is a graduate of North Carolina State University. He received a D.D.S. degree from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry and is in private dental practice in Chapel Hill.
Following a wedding trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands, the couple will reside in Chapel Hill.
