Joshua M. Salzman

Katherine Ilene Zeisel and Joshua Marc Salzman were married July 4, 2009, at Judea Reform Congregation in Durham. Rabbi Leah Berkowitz officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Susan Ann and Steven H. Zeisel of Chapel Hill. She is a graduate of Georgetown University and NYU School of Law and is an attorney.

The groom is the son of Ruth Mali and Ira H. Salzman of New York, N.Y. He is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard University and is an attorney.

The bride was given in marriage by Susan and Steven Zeisel.

Maid of honor was sister of the bride Rebecca Zeisel of New York.

Bridesmaids were Courtney Cosgrove of Carrboro, Elizabeth Spalt of Indianapolis, Ind., Shannah Varon of Somerville, Mass., and Rachel Salzman of New York, N.Y.

Best man was Joshua Rosenberg of New York.

Ushers were Jake Thomases, Alex Neustein and Joshua Cahn, all of New York, and Nicholas Degani and Jeffrey Theodore, both of Washington, D.C.

Following a wedding trip to Fiji, the couple will live in Washington, D.C.

Rosemary and Robert Campbell of Efland and James Edgerton of Hampton, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Elkins Edgerton, to Edwin Conley Geer, son of Betty and Major Geer of Chapel Hill.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Chapel Hill High School, N.C. State and Elon University. She is membership services coordinator for Bluegreen Corporation in Chapel Hill at The Preserve at Jordan Lake Golf Club and The Golf Club at Chapel Ridge.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Chapel Hill High School, and UNC-Greensboro. He is the leave of absence and disability manager for AT&T Mobility Corporation in Greensboro.

The wedding ceremony is planned for Aug. 8, 2009, at University Methodist Church in Chapel Hill.

Betsy Swint Underwood of Chapel Hill and Louis Underwood of Rockville, Md., announce the engagement of their daughter, Ruth Ann Underwood, to Daniel Vincent Hourigan, son of Mary and Robert Hourigan of Lake Wales, Fla.

The bride-elect is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and is a senior producer with Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta, Ga.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology and is director of transportation for Midtown Alliance.

The wedding ceremony is planned for Sept. 5, 2009, at The Trolley Barn in Atlanta, Ga.
