The League of Women Voters will host two public information sessions on the Land Transfer Tax Referendum that will be on the May 6 ballot in Orange County.

The first session will be April 23 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel Hill Town Council Chambers, 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

The second session will be April 30 at 7 p.m. in the F. Gordon Battle Courtroom, 106 E. Margaret Lane, Hillsborough.

Each session will begin with a presentation of the facts about what a land transfer tax is and how it would work. Speakers representing each side of the issue will provide an overview from their perspectives.

A moderator will also take questions from the audience for the speakers.

The sessions are open to the public. Tonight's session will air live on Chapel Hill TV-18, cable channel 18.

For information, see the Orange County Land Transfer Tax Web site, www.yourchoice-oc.com.
