CARRBORO

Jose Hermengildo Gonzalez Perez, 30, of 501 Jones Ferry Road, was arrested Friday and charged with driving while impaired. Perez refused a blood-alcohol test. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of $500 bail.

Juvencio Carreto Martinez, 33, of 5716 N. Spring Flowers Drive, Graham, was arrested Friday and charged with driving while impaired. According to a police report, Martinez’s blood-alcohol level was 0.16. The state standard for impairment is 0.08. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Rebecca Ruth Trachtenberg, 31, of 909 Sedgefield Road, Durham, was arrested Saturday on North Greensboro Street and charged with driving while impaired. According to a police report, her blood-alcohol level was 0.22. She was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Michael William Young, 27, of 305 Bessemer Ave., Greensboro, was arrested Saturday and charged with driving while license revoked, reckless driving and delivering a false report to police. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Walker Dallas Mullen, 19, of 1637 Mount Carmel Church Road, was arrested Monday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting injury. According to a police report, Mullen was charged after a woman reported death threats and showed physical signs of being strangled. He was held in Orange County jail in lieu of a $500 bail.

Break-ins were reported from Friday to Tuesday in homes on Pleasant Drive, Sunset Creek Circle and Old Fayetteville Road. Vehicle break-ins were reported on Barnes Street and Rose Walk Lane.

CHAPEL HILL

Robert Anthony McNair, 18, of 5102 A-8 Long Leaf Drive, Durham, was arrested Saturday morning and charged with first-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest. McNair was held in the Orange County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bail.

Richard Anthony Olivo, 26, of 220-69 Elizabeth St., was arrested Saturday morning at his home and charged with driving while impaired, having no driver’s license and reckless driving. He refused a blood-alcohol test and was taken to Chapel Hill Police Department, where he was held in lieu of a $3,500 bail.

Marco Lopez Soto, 25, of 1000-4 Weaver Dairy Road, was arrested Saturday afternoon and charged with driving while impaired, having no driver’s license and having improper registration. According to a police report, Soto’s blood-alcohol level was 0.16. He was held in the Orange County jail in lieu of a $400 bond.

Stuart Davenport Fitts, 28, of 5721 Springs Ave., Myrtle Beach, S.C., was arrested Sunday morning and charged with driving while impaired and failure to stop his vehicle at an accident. According to a police report, Fitts had been involved in an earlier accident on UNC campus property and had fled. He refused a blood-alcohol test and was held in the Orange County jail in lieu of $350 bail.

Matthew Thomas Shytle, 22, of 3518 N.C. 54, was arrested Sunday morning and charged with driving while impaired. According to a police report, Shytle’s blood-alcohol level was 0.21. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Steven David Ward, 35, of 5416 Old Chapel Hill Road, was arrested Sunday and charged with assault on a female and assault by strangulation. According to a police report, Ward was taken to Durham County jail and held in lieu of $4,000 bail.

Gary Glen Feather, 58, of 3702-107 Chimney Ridge Place, Durham, was arrested Monday morning and charged with driving while impaired and possessing an open beverage. According to a police report, Feather refused a blood-alcohol test and was held in Orange County jail until deemed sober. Feather was then released on a written promise to appear in court.

Shyquill Espino, 16, of 321 S. Estes Drive, was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with breaking and entering as well as larceny. Espino was held in the Orange County jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Break-ins were reported at two homes on Eastwood Road between Friday and Tuesday. Break-ins also were reported at residences on Church Street, McMasters Street and Ephesus Church Road. Vehicle break-ins were reported on Ashley Forest Drive, Branch Street, Sharon Heights Garden Apartments on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and U.S. 15-501 near the Franklin Street split.

Police received reports of two robberies over the weekend, including one in which a man said he was pistol-whipped, knocked unconscious and robbed after his car broke down on Eubanks Road about 2 a.m. Monday. While he was unconscious, the man’s assailants took some cash from him and left the scene in a gray pickup truck, Chapel Hill Police Capt. Bob Overton said.

On Friday evening, a man reported that he was mugged on a greenway connecting Caldwell and McMasters streets in the Northside neighborhood. According to a police report. the assailant demanded the man’s wallet, removed cash, threw the wallet on the ground and left.

A weekend robbery was thwarted, police say, when a Gumby’s pizza deliveryman drove off after seeing two men, one with a handgun, emerge from the woods at Ashley Forest Apartments off Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
