•A 26-year-old man was attacked on East Main Street near Carolina Car Wash early Saturday morning. The victim said he said "hello" to four men passing him and they "jumped him for no reason," punched and kicked him.
•An Oak Avenue Extension resident reported Saturday that someone tried to break into her house by removing the air conditioning unit from a window. She told police that he did not get inside, but "put his face up to the window calling for 'boo.'"
•Someone entered an unsecured sliding glass door at an N.C. 54 apartment and stole three TVs, two video game consoles, three DVD players, a computer modem, a cable TV box, two iPods, a trash can and a laptop sometime during the weekend.
•Rachid Safi, 38, of 4800 University Drive Unit 16G, and William Allen Smith, 36, of 700 Bolinwood Drive Unit 30C, were arrested Saturday and charged with driving while impaired in separate incidents, according to reports.
Chapel Hill
•Clarence Robinson, Jr., 37, of 555 Manns Chapel Road Unit A in Pittsboro, was arrested Thursday and charged with fraudulently obtaining property, according to a police report.
•Victor Lynn Embrey, 38, whose address was listed as the streets, was arrested Thursday and charged with credit card larceny and failure to appear in court, according to a police report.
•Brandon Christopher Barrett, 18, of Charlotte, was arrested Friday and charged with impersonating a police officer during Halloween festivities on Franklin Street. According to a police report, Barrett was "wearing the official uniform police jacket with badge and patches belonging to the UNC Police Department."
•Police arrested four people for fighting during Halloween festivities on Franklin Street and charged them with simple affray: Erik Rockford Rust, 21, of 500 Umstead Drive Unit 201A; William Michael Griffin, 21, of 237 Jackson Circle Unit A; Shane R. Mulligan, 21, of 500 Umstead Drive Unit 201A; and Otto F. Carver, 23, of 209 West Woodbridge Drive.
•Hardees Restaurant on Fordham Boulevard was robbed by someone with a "possible handgun" on Friday night.
•Robert Shante Sharpe, Jr., 30, of 5611 Old Greensboro Highway, was arrested Friday and charged with identity theft, resisting arrest and probation violations. According to a police report, Sharpe attempted a first degree burglary and identity theft, and police served seven warrants for him from Cary.
•Gary Glen Feather, 58, of 3702 Chimney Ridge Place Unit 107 in Durham, was arrested Friday and charged with transporting an open beverage, driving while impaired and driving with a suspended or revoked license. According to a police report, Feather refused to take a breath analysis test.
•Lewis Johnny Jacobs, Jr., 54, of 2 Jay St., was arrested Saturday and charged with felony larceny from a person and possession of stolen goods, according to a police report.
•Anthony Lewis, 20, of Fayetteville, was arrested Saturday and charged with driving while impaired, according to a police report.
•Matthew Trent Stephens, 31, of 129 Estes Drive Extension in Carrboro, was arrested Saturday and charged with driving while impaired and driving with a suspended or revoked license. According to a police report, his blood alcohol level was 0.17.
•Garrett Flynn Cook, 18, of Greensboro, was arrested Saturday and charged with driving while impaired and possession of an open beverage. According to a police report, Cook refused a breath analysis test.
•A 23-year-old Chapel Hill man was assaulted and robbed at about 1 a.m. Sunday on East Franklin Street. The suspects stole a cellphone and a wallet containing two debit cards, an insurance card and a driver's license.
•Vehicle break-ins this weekend:
An iPod was stolen from a car on Fordham Boulevard. Someone entered a vehicle on South Elliott Road and stole $33 cash. Someone opened the door of a car on Old Pittsboro Road and stole $45 cash, six textbooks and a backpack. An ashtray was stolen from a car on Smith Avenue. And someone used a rock to break a window and stole a GPS unit from a car on Scott Lane.
