•Michael Alphonzo Poteat, 51, of 4714 Dairyland Road, was arrested Friday and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and maintaining a vehicle where drugs are sold. According to a police report, Poteat sold crack cocaine to a police informant on several occasions at University Lake Apartments and crack rocks were found in his car.
•Antonio Coy Morrow, 31, whose address was listed as the streets, was arrested Friday and charged with breaking and entering. According to a police report, Morrow entered a vacant unit at Carolina Apartments through an unlocked patio door.
•An Estes Drive Extension resident reported Saturday that an acquiantance assaulted him in his home by cutting him with a box cutter. He told police that she wanted a place to sleep but was high on crack and would not calm down. When he asked her to leave, she reportedly attacked him.
•Someone entered a South Greensboro Street residence between Nov. 4 and Saturday and stole five power saws, a DVD player and an entertainment system. The victim told police he suspects a man who used to live with him was responsible.
•Guillermo Ariza Gonzalez, 47, of 501 Jones Ferry Road Unit C2, was arrested Sunday and charged with peeping into a room occupied by another person. According to a police report, he looked into bedroom windows at Carolina Apartments on N.C. 54.
•Someone broke into a Pleasant Drive residence on Sunday and stole $40 from a purse. Residents found the man inside, and he ran away after telling them his boss used to live there.
Chapel Hill
•Someone stole money from cash registers at Jack Sprat on East Franklin Street on Thursday night. Police found no evidence of forced entry.
•A $5,000 air conditioning unit was stolen from the window of a Cobb Terrace residence on Friday.
•Clayton Barney Weaver, 54, of 500 West Cameron Ave., was arrested Saturday and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and speeding to elude arrest, according to a police report.
•Timothy Lamont Alston, 28, of 7 Bypass Lane, was arrested Saturday and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of MDMA (ecstasy) with intent to distribute, maintaining a vehicle where drugs are sold and possession of marijuana. According to a police report, Alston had 25 grams of crack cocaine, 5 grams of cocaine, 8.1 grams of methamphetamine, 0.4 grams of marijuana and 21 ecstasy pills. Two other men were also arrested at Alston's home and face drug charges. James Freeman Hill III, 24, of 805 Old School Road, was charged with manufacturing schedule IV drugs, felony possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jermaine Kashif Evans, 24, of 4336 Edith Lane Unit D, was charged with possession of schedule II drugs, maintaining a vehicle where drugs are sold, resisting arrest and failure to appear in court. According to a police report, Evans had 7.5 grams of methamphetamine.
•Eliazar Arias Saavedra, 21, of 214 Pinegate Circle Unit 7, was arrested Saturday and charged with resisting arrest, making a false report to police, and driving without a license, according to a police report.
•Someone accidentally broke a window at Mediterranean Deli on West Franklin Street on Saturday while "playing around with friends," causing $600 damage.
•Erik Alfonso Flores, 19, of Burlington, was arrested Saturday and charged with possession of schedule II drugs. According to a police report, Flores had 0.5 grams of cocaine.
•Someone approached a 51-year-old Chapel Hill man on Longview Street Sunday night and "demanded money while displaying a knife."
•Home break-ins this weekend:
An unlocked window was opened and a laptop was stolen from a Drew Hill Lane residence. Someone climbed through the unlocked bedroom window of a North Graham Street residence, but nothing was stolen. And a home and car were entered on Worsham Drive and a cell phone and a purse containing $130 cash, three credit or debit cards and a driver's license were stolen.
•Vehicle break-ins:
A window was broken and a GPS unit was stolen from a car in an Erwin Road parking lot. Someone stole a navigation unit and a cell phone from a car in a South Columbia Street parking lot. An iPod and a wallet containing a debit card were stolen from an unlocked car on Long Leaf Drive. Someone stole prescription medications, a cell phone and a purse containing $250 cash and four credit or debit cards from a car on Manly Street. A purse containing a checkbook and a debit card were stolen from an unlocked car on Coolidge Street. Someone broke the window of a car in an East Franklin Street parking lot and stole a GPS unit. And a golf club cart, a golf bag, golf clubs and "garden vehicles and implements" were stolen from the bed of a truck parked in a carport on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on Friday. The items had a total value of $1,030.
