Carrboro
• Police received a report Nov. 26 that shots were fired at a Jones Ferry Road residence. Officers determined that no shots were fired but a fire had been started on a concrete walkway outside the home.
• Anthony Alexander Riggsbee, 44, of 400 Davie Road Unit 16, was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of stolen goods. According to a police report, Riggsbee was throwing items from a Davie Road apartment onto the ground, had a semi-automatic handgun and refused to lie on the ground. Officers used a Taser to subdue him.
• Five people were charged with breaking and entering on Thursday after they broke into a Jones Ferry Road apartment, which one of them had been evicted from several weeks ago: Carlos Benitez, 36, homeless; Martinez Hernandez, 26, of B7 Airport Drive; Marvin Moreno, 39, of 501 Jones Ferry Road Unit U6; Serio Perez, 20, homeless; and Wilmer Guadalope Tum, 25, homeless.
• Someone broke a window at an Estes Park apartment on Friday and stole "various items."
• Someone stole a car from the parking lot of Food Lion on Jones Ferry Road on Sunday. The victim said the keys were left in the vehicle, and it was later found wrecked and abandoned in Chatham County.
Chapel Hill
• Police charged three employees of local businesses Nov. 26 with selling a malt beverage to a minor after they sold alcohol to underage buyers working for the police department: Ann Denise Glenn, 47, of 710 Weaver Dairy Road, a clerk at the BP gas station on Weaver Dairy Road; Ashley Nicole Swing, 22, of 106 Misty Woods Circle Unit H, a waitress at Bailey's Pub and Grill on Fordham Boulevard; and Sherry Renne King-Purdie, 47, of 1250 Ephesus Church Road Unit N7, a cashier at Food Lion on Fordham Boulevard.
• A black 2006 Sport motor scooter, valued at $1,700, was stolen Nov. 26 from a Westminster Drive parking lot.
• Lester Darnell Fuller, 47, of N.C. 87 in Pittsboro, was arrested Nov. 26 and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and driving with an expired registration. According to a police report, Fuller had 6 grams of marijuana.
• Someone punched or kicked a hole in the wall of B-Ski's Restaurant on East Franklin Street on Thursday, causing $100 damage.
• Robert Allen Merritt, 48, of 100 West Rosemary St., was arrested Thursday and charged with breaking and entering, felony larceny and resisting arrest. According to a police report, Merritt broke into a Cameron Court residence and stole numerous jewelry items, a purse and an alarm speaker cap. The items had a total value of $285.
• Someone pried open a door at the office of Village Crossing Apartments on Village Crossing Drive on Friday and stole two TVs.
• Jose Luis Carreon Ramirez, 23, of 501 N.C. 54 Unit in Carrboro, was arrested Friday and charged with driving while impaired and driving without a license. According to a police report, his blood alcohol level was 0.17 after he crashed his car on N.C. 54.
•Felicia Alessandra Hawthorne, 23, of 5 Miosha St. in Durham, was arrested Saturday and charged with driving while impaired. According to a police report, Hawthorne's blood alcohol level was 0.13.
• Someone threw eggs at a Highgrove Road residence on Sunday.
• Corey Edward Ingram, 27, of 306 Estes Drive Extension Unit B3 in Carrboro, was arrested Sunday and charged with assault by strangulation and resisting a public officer, according to a report.
• Home break-ins this week:
An East Franklin Street residence was entered through a "locked but not properly closed door" and a camera, an MP3 player, a gold ring, a watch and a red dragon statue were stolen. Someone kicked in a garage door at a Breckinridge Place residence, but nothing was stolen. And an unlocked apartment on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was entered but nothing was stolen.
• Vehicle break-ins:
Someone smashed the window of a car on Booker Creek Road and stole a GPS unit, a cell phone charger and a car adapter. An iPod and a satellite navigation system were stolen from a car on Legion Road. Someone broke the windows of three cars on Pinegate Circle, but nothing was listed as stolen. A purse containing undeveloped film, gym shorts, "negotiable instruments," a debit card, a driver's license and a Social Security card were stolen from an unlocked car in an East Franklin Street parking lot. Someone entered a vehicle on South Roberson Street and stole a laptop, a $5,000 medical device, headphones, computer attachments, prescription medicine, a camera, a $100 vinyl bag and $2 in loose change. A laptop and briefcase were stolen from a car in an East Franklin Street parking lot. An iPod and $5 cash were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on North Street. And someone smashed the window of a car in an N.C. 54 parking lot and stole the car stereo.
