What I believeI believe we should all participate in the public conversation and that it is our civic duty to do so.
I believe in Carrboro, the core values of Carrboro, which are rooted in its working-class beginnings - the "hands on" shops of local craftsmen and artisans. I believe in this community of Carrboro, and that is why I have made it my home and place of business for the last 20 years.
I believe in "up not out" as a mantra for new buildings.
By building upward we have more homes or businesses without increasing the building footprint. Walkability and bikeability are more viable with a high-density town center. I believe in using a case-by-case basis for considering any new construction.
I believe the changes we make today will determine the world our children inherit, for better or for worse.
I believe we need to address the issues of climate change and oil dependence more urgently.
Over the last 20 years I have helped shape Carrboro and think of myself as a Carrboro insider. However in the political arena I am a newcomer which means more of an uphill battle here in the final days of the campaign.
I would like your vote.
