CARRBORO Francisco Manuel Centeno Aguirre, 33, 501 Jones Ferry Road, U3, was charged Friday with felony possession of cocaine with intent to sell or distribute, maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia according to a police report.
Carlos Humberto Catalan Falla, 45, 200 N.C. 54, E204, was arrested on Friday along with Maria de la Luz Bocanegra Soria, 55, of the same address. Both were charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell or distribute, maintaining a dwelling for the distribution of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana, according to a police report.
An employee of Southern Rail, 201 E. Main St., told police $315 cash was missing when he closed the restaurant Friday night.
Vehicle break-ins:
- Someone took a stereo from a car parked on Jones Ferry Road.
Home break-ins:
- A laptop was stolen from a house on Hillsborough Road during a party.
CHAPEL HILL Stephen James Howard, 19, 1580 Winford Avenue, Ventura, Calif., was charged Saturday with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, according to a police report. Police say Howard stabbed a UNC student in the leg at 106 Big Frat Court, causing a severe laceration.
John Ulysses Gillison, 43, 401 Mace St., Mebane, was charged Saturday with one felony count of statutory rape, according to a police report. The report states he was served with a warrant during a traffic stop on Martin Luther King Jr., Boulevard.
Miguel Angel Garcia-Aranda, 17, 910 Angier St., Durham, was arrested Sunday on one felony count of possession of of a stolen motor vehicle, and a misdemeanor charges of driving without a license, according to a police report. Police say a passenger in the car, Jose Castillo, 16, 518 Park Avenue, Durham, was also charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
Sunday, someone used a counterfeit $20 bill to make a purchase at the Etna gas station, 1509 E. Franklin St. Counterfeit bills were also used to buy a phone card at the Wilco gas station, 1213 Martin Luther King Jr., Boulevard.
Vehicle break-ins:
- A GPS unit, iPod, keyboard, and $30 cash was taken from two cars on East Franklin Street.
- A backpack with $480 worth of camping gear was stolen from a 1989 Honda Civic parked on Village Drive.
- A laptop was stolen from a car on Longview Street.
Home break-ins:
- Someone entered a home on Greene Street and stole $5,550 worth of computers and a flat screen TV.
- Someone stole two cell phones and camera during a Halloween party at a house on Greenwood Road.
- Someone forced open the door of an apartment on Booker Creek Road and stole $1,141 worth of electronics, a gold watch, and bag worth $1,000.
