Someone used a counterfeit $5 bill to make a purchase at the Dollar General, 104 N.C. 54 on Tuesday.
Wednesday, police say a student at McDougle Middle School, 900 Old Fayetteville Road, was found to be in possession of marijuana, stolen property and a small utility knife. The case was referred to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Samuel Dean Nolte, 24, 1114 Chaney Road, Raleigh, was arrested Thursday on a felony count of selling or distributing a Schedule I controlled substance.
Vehicle break-ins:
- Someone took a stereo faceplate from a car parked on Lloyd Street.
- The window of a car parked on North Greensboro Street was smashed, but nothing reported stolen.
CHAPEL HILL
Someone accessed the electrical dispensing system at Walker's BP Service, 1500 E. Franklin St., and stole $485 worth of gas on Wednesday.
Gregory Phillips Jenkins, 54, 128 Johnson St., was charged Thursday with one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, according to a police report. On arrival at Jenkins' home, police say they found a man bleeding from a head wound. The victim told police his brother stabbed him in the left temple with a steak knife during an argument. The victim was taken to UNC Hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Jenkins is being held in Orange County Jail on $15,000 secured bond.
Early Thursday morning, an officer patrolling downtown spotted several naked males running from Wilson Court into the Chi Psi Fraternity at 321 W. Cameron Ave. The officer questioned the fraternity president about the incident, but was not able to identify any of the men. No charges were filed in the incident.
Vehicle break-ins:
- Someone took five CDs from a car parked on Henderson Street.
- The windows of three cars in Homestead Road were smashed. Three CD players and a GPS unit were reported stolen.
- Two GPS units and a cell phone were taken from a pair of cars parked on Fordham Boulevard.
- A grocery bag and check book were stolen from a Honda Civic parked on South Estes Drive.
- GPS units were stolen from cars parked on Raleigh Road and Old Chapel Hill Road.
- An iPod was taken from an unlocked car on Weaver Dairy Road.
- A license plate was stolen from a parked car on Ephesus Church Road.
Home break-ins:
- Someone entered an apartment on Timber Hollow Court via the front window and took $352 worth of electronics.
